Say what you want about NeNe Leakes; it’s impossible to deny that the Real Housewives of Atlanta star knows how to work the runway! NeNe impressed in a stunning red dress, but more importantly, with her fierce advocacy for a cause she holds dear.
New York Fashion Week 2014 is officially underway! Yesterday, several of today’s hottest celebrities kicked off the festivities by taking part in the Heart Truth Red Dress Fashion Show. This annual event was initially launched in hopes of raising awareness of women’s heart disease which, believe it or not, is the number one killer among American women.
Having dealt with a terrifying health emergency a few months back, NeNe Leakes is all too aware of the importance of heart health. While she did not, as some assumed, suffer a heart attack, the celeb knows exactly what it’s like to deal with a deadly health scare. Eager to help promote a good cause, NeNe joined in for this year’s Heart Truth event. She looked lovely in an off-the-shoulder dress by Dolce & Gabbana, which, of course, featured a bright shade of red.
This morning, NeNe informed fans that she had an amazing time on the runway, boasting, “Believe me, I owned it!” She also posted several photos of her runway strut, along with the following caption: “Imma bout to shut this runway down with no problems…y’all not ready for Miss Leakes.”
We’re glad to see NeNe Leakes supporting such an important cause!
