In addition to all the typical problems associated with young motherhood, Mackenzie Douthit has been forced to deal with some truly alarming health issues. After delaying the delivery of her child as long as possible, the Teen Mom star finally gave birth to an adorable baby girl earlier today.
Mackenzie Douthit’s child may have been welcomed into the world several weeks early, but fortunately, the reality star was able to hold off on delivery long enough to avoid many of the usual problems experienced by preemies. Yesterday, she shared a final photo of her very large baby bump, along with the following caption: “Final photo. 37 weeks.” She also marked her last day of pregnancy with “a nice hot bath and Josh playing me some music.”
A source for Radar Online explains that Mackenzie’s early delivery was induced due to complications associated with her type 1 diabetes diagnosis. The mom’s blood sugar levels had been alarmingly low throughout much of the pregnancy, which, in turn, served as a very alarming risk factor for her daughter. “Mackenzie had a C-section and the doctors did it three weeks early because they were worried about her health and the health of the baby.”
Mackenzie has yet to return to social media to share a baby update with her fans, but according to Radar’s insider, all’s well that ends well. “Mackenzie is so happy with her baby girl.” We’re certainly looking forward to seeing photos of the proud mom’s bundle of joy!
We’d like to extend a hearty congrats to Mackenzie Douthit and Josh McKee! Feel free to share your best wishes in the comments section below!
