Yesterday we reported that Yolanda Foster was selling her Malibu mansion for a whopping $27.5 million, but no knew for sure why the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star and her hubby decided to list their estate. Now, the reality star is revealing the real reason behind the surprise move, and it’s kind of a bummer.
After Us Weekly ran a story about Yolanda Foster’s Malibu mansion being on the market, the Dutch model and reality star decided to explain the real reason behind her and hubby David Foster’s decision to list their well-cared for home. “This is our dream home,” she told the mag,“But due to my battle with Lyme disease for the past two years I just don’t have the strength to run this almost 5-acre property anymore and should really focus on my recovery with as little stress as possible.” She then explained further, “My daughter Gigi moved to New York last July and my Bella will move this July, so it will be just the two of us with my 14-year-old son, Anwar.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star’s battle with Lyme disease has been no secret on the show, as Yolanda has openly discussed her struggles in dealing with the debilitating disease. “The Lyme disease had so severely affected my brain functioning that it was extremely hard for me to think, form sentences, and stay focused,” she told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live last year.
While Yolanda is receiving treatment for the chronic disease and has improved, her decision to sell her large estate is no surprise to people familiar with the illness. The nearly 12,000-square foot home, which overlooks the Pacific Ocean and features six bedrooms, nine bathrooms and tons of other indoor/outdoor space would be a lot for anyone to handle, let alone a person experiencing chronic pain and exhaustion.
It really is too bad that Yolanda and her family have to part with their dream home, but here’s hoping that they can find the next best thing – albeit a smaller, next best thing. Best wishes, Yolanda!
