If there’s one thing we love about The Real Housewives, it’s that the series offers up several excellent catchphrases. There’s “Gone With The Wind fabulous” and “I want all the alcohol,” but perhaps the best in recent memory was, “Calm down, take a Xanax,” from Real Housewives of New York City star Ramona Singer.

Actors have the Oscars, pop sensations rock the Video Music Awards…but for reality stars, it’s all about Bravo’s Real Housewives Awards. This year is the first edition of what will likely become an annual tradition — and the nominations already have Facebook fans buzzing!

Ramona Singer was always a shoe-in for the quote category, what with her classic line, “Calm down, take a Xanax.” The celeb recently told E! News that she was incredibly proud of this contribution to the vast Housewives quote collection…and that she was really hoping to win the grand prize. She added that, given the positive feedback she’s garnered on Twitter, she definitely deserved to emerge victorious. “So many people have tweeted me to tell me how much they love that expression and have actually started using it themselves! Maybe it will even go in the urban dictionary like ‘Turtle Time’ did.”

The Real Housewives of New York City favorite has been busy on the campaign trail, highlighting posts about her quote on Twitter whenever she has the opportunity. She has some stiff competition, however, with the likes of NeNe Leakes, Lisa Vanderpump and even Milania Giudice all vying for the top spot.

Do you think Ramona Singer’s Xanax quote is worthy of distinction? We know you have an opinion and we want to hear it, so feel free to sound off in the comments section below!
