American Idol’s ratings may have fallen last year but we’re pretty sure that with a new judging panel consisting of Harry Connick Jr., Keith Urban and Jennifer Lopez, viewers across the nation will be tuning in for Season 13 on a much more regular basis—even if it’s just to ogle at the eye-candy of the two male crooners. But what we really want to know, is who’s hotter?
Harry Connick Jr. was born Joseph Harry Fowler Connick, Jr. in New Orleans, Louisiana, on September 11, 1967. and is the son of two successful lawyers who recognized and encouraged their sons’ musical talents from a young age. And it’s a good thing that they did, because the jazz heartthrob has more No.1 albums than we can count, and he’s about to bring American Idol back from obscurity!
Keith Lionel Urban was born in Whangarei, New Zealand, on October 26, 1967. Urban may be a New Zealand native, who grew up in Australia, but he has always had a deep passion for American country music which he inherited from his parents at a young age. It is not just his Australian accent that has won Urban the hearts of women across the globe, but also his serious talent and heartfelt music.
Keith Urban is one of the brightest stars in country music and he has a number of accolades under his belt including a collection of hit singles, Grammy Awards and CMA’s for “Top New Male Vocalist” and “Entertainer of the Year.” A man of many musical talents, the country crooner can sing, play guitar and write songs that will make any woman’s heart melt.
Harry Connick Jr. is a jack of all trades. Having achieved success at an early age as a jazz musician, his bluesy performances left him compared to the likes of the legendary Frank Sinatra. Connick Jr. went on to create the soundtrack for the hit romantic comedy When Harry Met Sally, which earned him with a Grammy for Best Jazz Male Vocal Performance—and he didn’t stop there! Connick Jr. has sold more than 25 million records, and enjoyed success in the acting world with hit films such as Memphis Belle and Hope Floats. Is there anything he can’t do?
Keith Urban has been married to Australian actress Nicole Kidman since 2006 (an eternity in Hollywood terms) and the pair still appear to be very happy together. Urban is also the father of two daughters: Sunday Rose Kidman Urban and Faith Margaret Kidman Urban.
At the time of Sunday Rose’s birth the country singer released a statement on his website, saying, “Earlier this morning, Nic gave birth to our beautiful baby girl. We want to thank everybody that has kept us in their thoughts and prayers. We feel very blessed and grateful that we can share this joy with all of you today. More to follow…”
And when Faith Margaret followed, Urban expressed his joy once again, saying, “Our family is truly blessed, and just so thankful, to have been given the gift of baby Faith Margaret. No words can adequately convey the incredible gratitude that we feel for everyone who was so supportive throughout this process.”
Harry Connick Jr. is also a serious catch! Not only does he have a perfectly groomed appearance and the manners of a Southern gentleman, he is also a wonderful family man. Connick Jr. has been married to former Victoria’s Secret model Jill Goodacre since 1994—and he has even dedicated a song to her: “Jill” on the album Blue Light, Red Light. How romantic?
The happy couple share three daughters together Georgia Tatum, Sarah Kate and Charlotte and Connick.Jr is proud to be a father. In fact, Connick Jr. is even protective and critical of the young female contestants on American Idol and is trying to prevent them from singing sexually-charged songs. All that fatherly goodness rubbing off?
Tell us what you think, who’s hotter: Keith Urban or Harry Connick Jr.?
