America loves MK Nobilette. Not only is she the first openly gay contestant to make the top 13 on American Idol, she’s also boasts an impressive set of pipes and a charming personality. Last night, MK received a standing ovation for her cover of Allen Stone’s Satisfaction — and we think she deserved the enthusiastic response.
Fans just can’t stop talking about MK Nobilette on Facebook. While some were less than impressed when the singer first cracked American Idol‘s top 30, few can deny that she has continued to improve during her time on the show. Already a wonderful musician when the season began, MK now has the confidence needed to be a true Idol star.
Last night’s performance of Satisfaction marked yet another milestone for MK Nobilette: she was the first singer to elicit a standing ovation during the live performance episode. The judges certainly agreed with the enthusiastic audience, with Keith Urban highlighting MK’s improved confidence and Harry Connick Jr. complimenting the musician on her use of makeup. Jennifer Lopez was unfamiliar with MK’s song of choice, but still was impressed with the overall performance. She told the contestant, “It was really smart to do a song like that and show a different side of you.”
Prior to her standing ovation, MK made a point of reaching out to fans on Twitter. “Tonight is the night everyone! I couldn’t feel more excited today to sing for all of you! Make sure to vote tonight after I sing!” We hope fans did just that, for it would be wonderful to see MK make it to the next round.
