Teresa Giudice insists that she’s ready to turn over a new leaf, but Facebook followers are once again questioning her integrity. The Real Housewives Of New Jersey star recently raised eyebrows when she demanded that book signing attendees pay for their purchases with cash.
In today’s plastic world, cash-only venues are exceedingly rare. Merchants are well aware of the benefits of offering alternative forms of payment — typically credit cards, although mobile varieties are also becoming quite common. Given this reality of modern shopping, why in the world did Teresa Giudice insist on receiving straight cash at her recent book signing?
Turns out, this alleged book signing was about more than simply scribbling in a signature on Teresa’s cookbooks. The reality star was also charging fans $25 each to pose with her in photos, many of which were later posted to Twitter. An attendee later told Radar Online, “Teresa was telling guests it was ‘cash only, no receipts’ and she had bags of cash beside her where her colleague was collecting the money.”
Several guests thought this strict insistence on cash seemed fishy. Radar’s source explained, “The reaction of everyone was priceless. It was the hot topic of the event. Why would someone insist on cash only?”
The prominent theory is that Teresa wanted to avoid a paper trail. But this seems like a super risky move, what with her current legal woes. With the prospect of several months behind bars, why would Teresa want to put herself in danger of additional fraud charges?
What do you think? Does Teresa Giudice’s book signing prove that she’s engaging in the same type of behavior that got her in trouble in the first place? Feel free to share your opinion in the comments section below!
