For months now, we’ve been hearing rumors that Kanye West has been desperately trying to convince Vogue Magazine to feature his bride to be, Kim Kardashian on the cover, and Kimye finally got their wish. However, after the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star shared her big news on Twitter, it sparked immediate controversy over whether or not she deserves be on the cover, with many fans threatening to cancel their subscription.
Facebook fans and Twitter followers seem to be in shock that Kim Kardashian has finally landed herself on the cover of Vogue, which is something she has wanted for a long time. Among those upset with the decision is actress Sarah Michelle Gellar, who took to Twitter to share her disappointment, posting: “Well…I guess I’m canceling my Vogue subscription.” And many Vogue readers agree with Gellar, and are also planning to cancel their subscription, feeling that Kim does not belong on the cover of the magazine.
Speculation has been that Kanye West somehow convinced – or paid off – the magazine’s editor, Anna Wintour to feature to Kardashian on the cover. However, in her editor’s letter, Wintour defended her decision, and made it clear that West had nothing to do with it. Instead, Wintour wrote: “As for the cover, my opinion is that it is both charming and touching, and it was, I should add, entirely our idea to do it; you may have read that Kanye begged me to put his fiancee on Vogue’s cover. He did nothing of the sort.”
Well, we’re certainly glad that is cleared up. But whether or not Kanye had anything to do with the cover, the fact of the matter is that the majority of fans are not happy. Did Vogue make a huge mistake?
