Shakira is loving her role as mentor and judge on The Voice. But on occasion, it can be very frustrated to be surrounded by the likes of Usher, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Carson Daly. No worries though — the guys aren’t about to drive her away just yet!
The Voice’s Facebook fans are still super excited about Shakira’s return to the cushy red chair. The singer and judge is friendly and witty, but most important of all, she’s capable of offering contestants solid criticism.
Another reason fans enjoy Shakira’s presence on the judging panel? She gets on really well with Adam, Usher and Blake. But she admits that, at times, she feels very exasperated with the antics of her fellow judges. During a recent appearance on the Today show, Shakira confessed, “I’m surrounded by little boys. They’re like 13, each one of them. The mature one is Carson. He’s, like, 16.”
Although the guys love goofing off, they also remain dedicated to their overarching goal of developing a group of talented musicians. Shakira explained, “You know, there’s a very serious aspect to game…which is mentoring and helping new talent flourish.”
The Voice is just one of several projects Shakira is pursuing at the moment. Although she chatted about the reality competition on Today, the main reason for her appearance was the promotion of her brand new album. The record is already receiving plenty of praise on Twitter, although some fans have accused it of not being ‘Shakira’ enough for their tastes.
