The Biggest Loser gave us all quite the shock on the season finale this year, when Rachel Frederickson walked away as the winner, but looked completely emaciated. Most Facebook and Twitter fans reacted in disgust, but no one looked more disgusted than trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels. Now, rumor has it that Jillian Michaels is ready to quit the show, but is it because of Rachel, or perhaps because she dealt with her own controversy this season? Details inside…
Jillian Michaels left The Biggest Loser once, so you can bet your bottom dollar that she would do it again. But why would the beloved the trainer leave such an inspirational show for a second time? Well, according to a new report by People Magazine, Michaels has a few good reasons to walk away. While Michaels herself did not speak the media herself, one source close to the beloved trainer told the magazine: “She is turned off by the mean-spirited story lines and poor care of the contestants.”
And by “poor care of the contestants,” we’re assuming she means what happened with Rachel Frederickson, who came back to the show for the season finale looking anorexic and sick. “Michaels wants to distance herself from the Biggest Loser brand. Her feeling is that there isn’t proper attention paid to the contestants’ health or wellness,” the source continued, adding that Michaels was really shaken up over Rachel, which was obvious by her facial expressions during the finale. With that in mind though, once Rachel left the ranch to prepare for the finale, no one behind the scenes of the show really knew what she was going to do, and most think she took it to the extreme just to win.
But it’s not just Rachel’s extreme weight loss that has Michaels considering leaving the hit show. As if having two children to tend to was not enough, it also has to do with the amount of respect that Michaels feels she is no longer getting. “The show uses her as the bad guy, and anyone who knows Jillian knows she’s not the bad guy at all. She’s a loving mother of two kids. She’s not the negative person they portray her as,” the insider concluded.
And speaking of negativity, Michaels was also involved in her own sort of controversy this season. If you all tuned in, you already know that Jillian was accused of breaking the rules, which just so happened to take place during the week after Idol alum Ruben Studdard was eliminated. Jillian’s team was then given a punishment for her mistake (giving them caffeine pills instead of coffee) and Studdard was brought back to the show. However, when fans questioned Michaels about a possible conspiracy against her simply to bring Ruben back, she agreed with them.
Whatever Jillian decides to do, we wish her well. If she does leave The Biggest Loser, we will miss her, but completely understand.
