Bethenny Frankel attracted a fair amount of Facebook criticism the other day, when she compared The Real Housewives Of New York City to the Vietnam War. Chalk it up to another case of foot in mouth for the struggling reality star.
The latest rumors suggest otherwise, but Bethenny Frankel says she is definitely not returning to The Real Housewives Of New York City. The reality star and talk show host made this abundantly clear during a recent interview. She claimed to still be mired in bad memories from the series, comparing her experience to “flashbacks from Vietnam.”
It’s not surprising that Bethenny’s comment attracted a ton of negative attention. After all, she’s likening the experience of being a privileged housewife on a reality show to that of going to war. The two are, obviously, legions apart. In spite of all the anger surrounding her comment, the reality star has failed to issue an apology, instead choosing to focus her Twitter account on (surprise, surprise) her Skinnygirl products.
In addition to chatting about Vietnam flashbacks during her recent interview, Bethenny spoke at length about the difficulties she’s faced this past year. “I have had so many disasters, so many failures, so many low points…no amount of money can heal pain, suffering and loss.” Due to these failures, Bethenny has, at times, considered giving up on the fame game that is causing her so much stress. She admitted, “I don’t know if I want to be famous anymore,” adding that, in spite of everything, “I will continue to pursue it.”
