It was back to the #SpyShack for Tony on Survivor: Cagayan as his allies were totally pissed he had flipped on them to vote out LJ. Going way back to the first episode, Tony piled up branches and leaves right next to the tribe’s water well to create Spy Shack 2.0. This makeshift shanty was built with one goal in mind: To secretly listen to the strategies of anybody trotting by. And it didn’t take long for his prey to fall into the shack trap.

Almost immediately, Tony found himself secretly listening to Jefra and Trish talking about his future in the game. It was a moment that Tony says he realized he might be in trouble. Well, duh! You’ve betrayed lots of people in this game. Yes, I appreciate your intense passion and strategies, but I think your clock is ticking. I also found the shots of Tony peeking through the leaves and sticking his fingers slightly through the Spy Shack a bit ridiculous because it all seemed very set up by producers. I’m guessing those shots were done when no other tribemates were nearby. Wouldn’t Trish and Jefra have noticed the camera pointing in his direction? Just saying…
Tasty Cave Reward
Tasha, Jefra, Spencer and Jeremiah were victorious in the Reward challenge and won the right to gorge themselves on piles of goodies at a lunch barbecue. The chicken, ribs, potato salad and chocolate chip cookies were all dished up at an insanely stunning cave. The foursome found themselves in awe of the entire experience. ”Epic” was the only way Spencer could describe it. As they shoved their faces with food, they all agreed that Tony should be the next to go — even Jefra. Although she was ready to make a move against the Spy Shack dweller, she wasn’t ready to commit to making a deeper deal with Tasha, Jeremiah and Spencer. But then, without warning, their host at the cave brought each of them letters from home. Jefra was instantly brought to tears, and after reading her mom’s letter, she ultimately agreed to a final-four deal with them. That’s all it took?!?! Damn.
Woo’s Pain In The Ass
Back at camp, Kass pushed — once again — to vote Spencer out of the game in the event he doesn’t win Immunity. The strategy discussion quickly flipped when Trish brought up her latest discovery — limes and papayas that looked “like Morgan’s boobs.” As Woo climbed the tree Mowgli-style to shake down the goodies, a branch snapped and he came screaming down to the ground. He sat up and grabbed his butt without any sign of serious injury. Instead, he laughed it off and said, “I’d break my ass for papayas any day.”
The latest ball-balancing challenge didn’t last very long. Tasha, Spencer, Jeremiah and Woo were all that remained after just three minutes. For the second time this season, the challenge came down to Tasha and Spencer as the duo battled for Immunity. Unlike the first time they went toe to toe, Tasha prevailed. I was expecting some terrific “balls” commentary from Jeff Probst, but it really wasn’t there this time. Oh, well.
As the tribe returned to camp, Tony rushed off to start searching for the hidden Immunity Idol. He was worried that the target on his back was the biggest it has ever been and the only way to spare himself would be with this new special Idol. After frantically digging around a strange-looking tree, Tony clawed the special “Tyler Perry” Idol out of the ground. What is this special Idol all about? The owner possesses the right to play the Idol AFTER the votes have been read. It has been dubbed the “Tyler Perry” Idol because the Madea actor texted the twist idea to Probst during a recent finale. Funny thing is, this Idol concept is nothing new. For two seasons — Survivor: Panama — Exile Island and Survivor: Cook Islands — the Idol was played EXACTLY this same way.
With Tribal Council looming, Jefra rekindled her alliance with Trish, Kass, Woo and Tony. She then admitted to Jeremiah that she wasn’t going to be voting with her new four-way alliance after all. As Tasha, Spencer and Jeremiah sat in the water together, the trio dished secrets about themselves. Jeremiah revealed that he’s a model while Spencer told them he had found a hidden Immunity Idol. Would it come into play?
At Tribal Council, Spencer proved why he’s worth rooting for when he told the entire tribe that his vote will go to Tony if he makes it to the end of the game. He used it as a wake-up call to Tony’s allies who are letting him control the game. Before the votes were made, Tony claimed to have his “bag of tricks” with him once again. Spencer called Tony’s bluff saying he didn’t think he would be playing anything out of his bag. After they each voted, Spencer rose to his feet to play his Idol. ”You can steal as many clues as you want, Woo,” he said. ”I’ve got the real thing.” This prompted Tony to pull his Idol out and show it off and said, “Do you see the inexperience in the young lad?” Tony asked Probst. ”He was about to give his Idol to Jeremy (“Who’s Jeremy?” Morgan asked from the jury seats). He thought I was gonna use mine. This is a fake Idol, by the way.” When the votes were read, Jeremiah was the one ultimately getting his torch snuffed.
The rest of the tribe is well aware that there’s a special Idol hidden at camp because they were told about it when the tribal merge happened. I really hope Spencer and the others don’t fall for Tony’s latest lie and realize that his Idol is actually the real deal.
What are your thoughts on tonight’s episode? Are you happy Tony found the special Idol? How do you feel about Jeremiah getting voted out? At this point, who do you think is best positioned to win the entire game? Sound off and leave a comment in the section below.
