Given all the current Real Housewives Of Atlanta drama, it’s pretty obvious that Kordell Stewart is relieved to no longer be Porsha Williams’ hubby. While Facebook fans assumed that the divorce was instigated by Porsha’s love of the spotlight and Kordell’s wish for privacy, the reality star now claims that her ex physically abused her.
It’s a good thing Porsha Williams has a budding music career on the back burner, because it looks like the celeb’s time as a Real Housewives Of Atlanta cast member is quickly drawing to a close. The reality star has, as of late, been focused on promoting Flatline, her brand new single. Twitter followers have been wondering about the inspiration behind Flatline’s lyrics for some time — and now, they finally have their answer.
During a recent interview with Access Hollywood, Porsha confessed that her song touched on “domestic violence and some abuse I encountered in my marriage,” adding that, while the lyrics didn’t completely follow her story, she’d definitely experienced physical abuse at the hands of her ex.
In spite of everything, Porsha says she still loves Kordell. It was this deep love that nearly convinced her to stay at her husband’s side, even after it was clear that their marriage was in shambles. “Even though you’re being abused, you still love that person. You try to love them through it.” Eventually, though, the reality star realized that she couldn’t change her husband…and that she needed to instead focus on herself.
Do you believe Porsha Williams’ abuse claims? We know you have an opinion and we want to hear it, so feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below!
