Last night, it was wonderful to see Andi Dorfman again, as the new season of The Bachelorette kicked off, but let’s be honest, it was even more refreshing to not have to see Juan Pablo. However, this season started on a sad note, after the tragic death of contestant Eric Hill, who passed shortly after his stint on the show was up. Now, our new Bachelorette Andi Dorfman is speaking out about the devastation of Hill’s death.
Facebook and Twitter have been buzzing for weeks about the new season of The Bachelorette with Andi Dorfman, but also because of the tragic death of contestant Eric Hill. Eric was killed in a paragliding accident April 23, leaving Bachelornation all shaken up. But no one was more devastated by Hill’s death (aside from his family of course) than Andi Dorfman, who had eliminated Hill weeks earlier.
Speaking to People Magazine, Dorfman opened up about the tragedy: “He was a member of our cast and we had an inherent bond. The other contestants shared that bond too. It was shocking and devastating to all of us and it’s still a tough thing that we’re going through.”
And for Dorfman, who reached out to Hill’s family privately, she will always remember Hill’s love of life. “Eric really was the epitome of someone who lived life to the fullest. This man had amazing stories and great experiences. His sense of adventure inspired not only me, but every guy in the house, every producer, every crew member. Everybody says they want to do stuff in their life but he was really doing it,” Andi went on to explain.
Such a sad loss. Our hearts go out to the family and friends of Eric Hill.
