The former Real Housewives Of New York City housewife, Bethenny Frankel, can probably breathe a little easier now. After a very long custody battle, Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy have finally settled on the custody portion of their divorce.
After only two years of marriage, Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy decided to divorce – and then the custody battle began. The two are parents to a beautiful four-year old girl, Bryn Hoppy. And both parents wanted to have custody of Bryn, and so the court battle began.
Part of the custody battle became public and the exes did what most exes do – say things in the heat of the moment. Bethenny referred to Jason as ”white-trash” and Jason retaliated by saying he would “destroy” Bethenny. Yikes! Facebook and Twitter were abuzz with comments about Bethenny’s messy marriage. And then Bethenny was advised by her business partners to quickly settle with Hoppy, before more damaging statements were released.
On Wednesday instead of returning to court, the couple finally settled on a custody agreement. And Jason Hoppy is thrilled that he has partial custody of his daughter. Jason’s lawyer had this to say, “My client is delighted that this custody dispute has been resolved; that his co-parenting status has been acknowledged.” He also said that they are happy Bryn doesn’t have to be in the middle of a high-profile battle in the courtroom.
It’s nice to see that the parents took Bryn into consideration and settled outside of court. Now that the custody battle is over, we will have to wait and see about the financial settlement. There have been numerous rumors that Bethenny had to move out of her NY multi-million dollar home because Jason refused to leave. Looks like more drama is to come with this divorce!
