Duck Dynasty’s Uncle Si Sounds Off On His Musical Influences

June 17, 2014 01:33 PM by Stephanie Gustafson

The Robertson family is already incredibly influential in the world of reality television, but now, they’re shaking up the music industry! Following the success of the Duck Dynasty clan’s holiday album, Uncle Si has decided to release his own country EP. He’s tapped a number of surprising sources in his quest for country music fame.

Uncle Si is generating a lot of Twitter buzz with his new country EP, which includes such masterpieces as Me And My Smoking Hot Honey and Can’t Take The Swamp Outta The Man. Kix Brooks of Brooks & Dunn was greatly involved in the recording process, but he was just one of several sources of inspiration for the reality star turned country crooner.

In a recent interview with Billboard, Uncle Si revealed his biggest musical inspirations. While some of them (such as Garth Brooks) were predictable, others were quite surprising. For example, the reality star admitted to being a huge fan of James Brown and the Platters.

Although he mostly enjoys music from the 1960s, Uncle Si acknowledges that there’s plenty of talent in every generation. “It’s all good from the 70s all the way through to the 90s. It’s different for each generation, but it’s all good music.”

Facebook fans will be happy to learn that this is definitely not the end of Uncle Si’s music career. The popular Duck Dynasty cast member has discovered that he adores the recording process….and he’s ready for more!

Have you heard any of the songs from Uncle Si’s country EP? What did you think? We know you have an opinion and we want to hear it, so feel free to sound off in the comments section below!
