Almost one year ago, the Facebook and Twitter world was shocked to learn that Country superstar Randy Travis had suffered a stroke after some heart problems. Now, nearly a year later, Travis is still suffering from the aftereffects of his medical emergency, as reports claim that the singer is still struggling to speak.
Poor Randy Travis! Nearly one year after the Country music singer suffered a life threatening stroke, he is still struggling to get back to normal. Sadly, he may never sing again. According to a new report from our friends at TMZ, who spoke with a rep for Travis, Randy is still unable to talk since the stroke.
Travis actually stepped out in public last month to attend a Dolly Parton event, and was even photographed with Parton. Immediately after, reports began to surface claiming that Travis told Parton he was ready to go back to singing, but those reports are not true according to Travis’ rep. Another source told the site that Randy cannot even form a complete sentence yet.
As for his return to singing, while his future is unclear at the moment, Randy’s therapist feels that a return to the stage may be possible – in a few years at best. Right now, Randy is just starting to walk with a cane, so he still has a long road to recovery ahead of him.
Randy suffered the stroke in July 2013, after heart issues. “As a complication of his congestive heart failure, Mr. Randy Travis has suffered a stroke and is currently undergoing surgery to relieve pressure on his brain,” Randy’s rep announced back then.
We certainly hope that Randy Travis recovers fully soon and that his dream of returning to the stage becomes a reality for him in the future.
