Jillian Michaels may have been only one of several influential trainers involved in The Biggest Loser, but for Facebook fans, she was easily the most memorable. Unfortunately, viewers will have to get used to the idea of watching their favorite show without their favorite trainer — Jillian is definitely not planning to return in the near future.
In spite of her harsh portrayal on The Biggest Loser and the resulting criticism on Twitter, Jillian Michaels still seems like an integral part of the show. Fans worry that the series won’t be as entertaining without the fitness guru’s tough love approach — and they aren’t alone!
Bob Harper recently expressed his reluctance to continue on without Jillian during an interview with Closer Weekly. He admitted that, with so much history between the two trainers, it could only feel odd when one of them left. Bob explained, “I’ve worked with Jillian since the very beginning,” adding that, already, the show feels “very different” without her.
He’s sad to see Jillian go, but Bob is also excited to work with newbies Jennifer Widerstrom and Jessie Pavelka. “There are going to be new and creative things coming in. We’ve just got to keep things fresh.”
This statement reflects the thoughts of a select group of Biggest Loser fans, many of whom felt that Jillian was standing in the way of progress. Now, the show should be able to move past its usual tough love story line and onto new contestant-trainer dynamics.
