Last night marked the season six finale for Duck Dynasty, a show that, as of a few months ago, Facebook fans thought was over for good. Although the ratings aren’t too hot at the moment, the Robertson family is still hanging on for dear life. The Twitter community was pleased to see that the season six finale included a bit of the rebellious streak responsible for the original Phil Robertson controversy.
Uncle Si is typically regarded as the goofy elder on Duck Dynasty, while Phil Robertson is viewed as responsible for the controversy that so frequently surrounds this show. During the season finale, however, Si managed to mix things up a bit, showing off his slightly rebellious side.
At first, the cause of this rebellion seemed harmless enough — Uncle Si was bothered by the Robertson gals’ unwillingness to relieve themselves in the lake. He complained, “Look, I don’t know what the big deal is okay? The lake is like having a shower and bathroom combo.”
It didn’t take long for Si’s complaint to turn into a tirade about how “precious” modern society has become. “If I can’t poop in the lake like a grown man, that means the yuppies win. And if the yuppies win, they’d sell America. I don’t even know who you’d sell it to if the yuppies win, I mean, I wouldn’t buy it.”
Although his little rant seems to echo Phil’s resentment of the current state of society, Uncle Si’s complaints aren’t likely to cause controversy. In fact, many viewers found themselves agreeing with the Duck Dynasty fan favorite!
