This is obviously not a good time for American Idol alums. First, Michael Johns passed away unexpectedly at the age of 35, and now, Josh Gracin has narrowly avoided a similar fate. The former Idol contestant was recently believed to have committed suicide, but fortunately, police confirmed that he was still alive and spending time with his family.
Shortly after the shocking death of Michael Johns, American Idol fans were nearly forced to commence mourning for another reality star. The other day, Josh Gracin left a very disturbing message for fans, imploring them to “remember me as someone who gave his all in music” and “pray for my family as they carry on in this world without me.”
Upon seeing this cry for help, Josh’s fans were understandably concerned. Police were forced to check up on the singer, who was thought to have committed suicide. Thankfully, whether he was stopped by a loved one or through his own volition, Josh did not end up taking his own life. His rep eventually eased the minds of worried Twitter followers by explaining, “Josh is safe & with his family now.”
In the aftermath of this alarming series of events, Josh’s rep has announced that his next performance will not take place. This change in plans was confirmed in the following Facebook message: “We regret to announce that Josh Gracin’s appearance at tomorrow’s Live on the Levee show in Charleston, WV has been cancelled.” Hopefully, Josh’s time away from the spotlight will give him the opportunity to recover.
