Jessa Duggar is engaged and Jill Duggar is pregnant, but not all news is good news in the Duggar family. Michelle Duggar is currently under fire for a recently recorded robocall, which features clear opposition to a proposed anti-discrimination ordinance in Fayetteville. Facebook critics think that Michelle is guilty of transphobia — could she be the next Phil Robertson?
Michelle Duggar is definitely not happy about a proposed ordinance in Fayetteville, but her efforts to fight it are attracting a lot of negative attention. Proponents claim that the pending legislation would protect members of the LGBT community from discrimination. If the law is passed, landlords and business owners will no longer be able to evict or terminate individuals based on sexual orientation.
Eager to fight this pending legislation, Michelle recently recorded a very controversial robocall. In this call, Michelle introduced herself and explained, “I’m calling to inform you of some shocking news that would affect the safety of Northwest Arkansas women and children.”
According to Michelle, the anti-discrimination law could prove harmful for the Fayetteville community. She told robocall listeners that the ordinance would allow men — even those with past sexual predator convictions — to use “womens and girls restrooms, locker rooms, showers, sleeping areas and other areas that are designated for females only.”
As expected, the Twiter community is not happy about Michelle Duggar’s stance on Fayetteville’s proposed LGBT law. They argue that she is misinformed about the specifics of the law and they worry that her campaigning could ultimately harm the area’s LGBT population.
