Lately, it has not been a good time of good news for the American Idol family. First, Michael Johns passed away suddenly at the young age of 35, and then, Josh Gracin was on the verge of suicide. Thankfully, we finally have some happy news to share! Season four winner, and Country music superstar Carrie Underwood and her husband Mike Fisher are expecting their first child.
It looks like some congratulations are in order! Twitter and Facebook fans have been saddened by most of the recent news surrounding American Idol alums, but we finally have some great news. Carrie Underwood, one of the biggest stars to come out of the reality singing competition, is expecting her first child with husband, Mike Fisher.
Underwood took to social media to share the news this weekend, posting: “In honor of Labor Day, Ace & Penny would like to make an announcement. Their parents couldn’t be happier,” along with photos of the couple’s dogs donning t-shirts that read, “I’m going to be a big sister,” and “I’m going to be a big brother.” Awe, what a cute idea. Meanwhile, Underwood’s publicist confirmed that the couple are indeed expecting their first child in the Spring of 2015.
Just last year, Carrie told Marie Clare magazine that she wasn’t sure she felt “old enough” to have a child, but she obviously feels different this year. At only 31, Underwood has already won six Grammy Awards and sold more than 15 million albums. She was also the first woman to win the Academy of Country Music’s entertainer of the year award twice.
Congratulations to Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher!
