Hosts & Performers Announced for Rock Star: INXS

American Idol might be over, but reality TV and rock n’ roll fans will only have to wait about a month and half for what should be one of the hottest shows of the summer. CBS has announced both the hosts and the 15 performers for the ROCK STAR: INXS reality show.

ROCK STAR: INXS, from "Survivor" executive producer Mark Burnett, combines the world of rock music with relationship-style unscripted drama, performance competition and a weekly contestant elimination. The last singer standing will become the lead singer of the internationally renowned band INXS and embark on a worldwide concert tour with the band and be part of the group’s new album.

Celebrated rock guitarist Dave Navarro (formerly of Jane’s Addiction and The Red Hot Chili Peppers) and Brooke Burke ("Wild On") are set to host ROCK STAR: INXS, beginning with a special one hour premiere on Monday, July 11 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT), followed by a one-hour broadcast on Tuesday, July 12 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) and a half-hour edition on Wednesday, July 13 (9:30-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Beginning the following week, ROCK STAR: INXS will be seen regularly on Mondays (9:30-10:00 PM, ET/PT), Tuesdays (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) and Wednesdays (9:30-10:00 PM, ET/PT).

Dave Navarro’s six-string skills, best described as a merger between heavy metal, psychedelia and modern rock, have led him to become one of alternative’s first true guitar heroes. He is a former member of both Jane’s Addiction and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. He has also worked with Nine Inch Nails, Christina Aguilera, Puffy, Usher, Jay Z, Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey. In 2004, Navarro’s wedding to Carmen Electra was documented as an MTV series, "Til Death Do Us Part." That same year, Navarro also released a book titled Don’t Try This At Home.

Brooke Burke is recognized worldwide as the tour guide and adrenaline junkie for the travel series "Wild On," and for her top-selling swimsuit calendars. She has graced numerous magazine covers and is regularly ranked in men’s magazines as one of the hottest women in the world today. She was most recently honored with a Spike TV video game award for "Best Female Performance" for her work as Rachel Teller in Electronic Arts’ street racing video game, "Need For Speed: Underground 2." She currently appears in a new Burger King commercial directed by famed photographer David LaChapelle. She has also launched her own line of beachwear called "Barely Brooke."

CBS has also revealed the 15 new performers vying to become the new lead singer of the internationally renowned band INXS.

DAPHNA DOVE, 29, Los Angeles (born in Germany, raised in New York City), Musician/Legal Secretary, Single

J.D. FORTUNE, 31, Oakville, Ontario (originally from Nova Scotia), Musician, Single

DEANNA JOHNSTON, 36, Reseda, Calif. (originally from Kingston, Ontario), Musician, Married

SUZIE McNEIL, 28, Toronto, Ontario, Musician, Boyfriend

DANA ROBBINS, 30, Studio City, Calif. (originally from Las Vegas, Musician/Dancer/Yoga Instructor/Bartender, Single

JESSICA ROBINSON, 25, Chicago, Musician/Barista, Engaged

HEATHER LUTTRELL, 27, Atlanta, Musician/Painter, Single

WIL SEABROOK, 28, Pasadena, Calif. (originally from N.C.), Musician, Engaged

TARA SLONE, 31, Toronto, Ontario, Musician/Actor, Single

TY TAYLOR, 36, Las Vegas (originally from Montclair, NJ), Musician/Actor, Single

The 15 performers will be housed together in a Hollywood Hills home. Each week will feature taped reality segments focusing on the performers’ relationships and activities (Monday episodes), along with a performance competition (Tuesday) and weekly results (Wednesday).

The series is produced by Mark Burnett Productions. Mark Burnett, David Goffin, ("American Idol") Lisa Hennessy ("Eco-Challenge") and INXS managers David Edwards and Michael Murchison are executive producers. Conrad Riggs is co-executive producer.

I recognise one of these names. Tara Slone is the lead singer of Joydrop, a Canadian rock band. Very cool. I believe they have two albums out so far.

She also acted as Birkoff’s girlfriend in a couple of episodes of La Femme Nikita and probably wants to forget Night of the Demons 3 (done way before Joydrop).

Suzie McNeil rocks. I’ve been listening and loving her since I first saw her at the Southside Blues Festival in Port Credit in 2000. Haven’t seen much of her lately as she’s busy with Abbamania.

I have been writing,recording and performing with Dana Robbins for thee plus years in a band called Alien Showgirls and she never ceaces to amaze our audience as well as her bandmates with her powerful beautiful vocals and songwriting. She also has an incredable stage presence and is widley acknowledged as the best hard rock singer on the LA club sceen…not to mention the hottest..male or femail.INXS should be so lucky!

Jordis Unga is the lead singer for The Fighting Tongs in St. Paul, Minnesota. I remembered her from Star Search which they robbed her performance. She is the youngest of this group and can handle the pressure. I have seen her concert and I know her fans hardly wait to see her compete. Imagine, she is the youngest of this group and thats explain her talents.

Heather Luttrell is dy-no-mite! She rules the stage like no other with her reinvention of the modern blues song. Atlanta has been lucky enough to have her around as our best kept secret and we will all be pulling for her while she’s away.

The competition is tough, reading about all of the talented individuals chosen. Marty is destined for greatness - I hope the competition is up to the challenge! This guy is creative, soulful, mesmerizing, and poised. Is America ready to see rock revitalized? We’ll have to see if they pick the right guy for the job!

As much as I love the intensity that Marty Casey brings to each & every performance, he should stay in the Lovehammers!! That is where he belongs…they have something special between the 4 of them and need to continue on the path to success through that channel.
I wish Marty all of the luck in the world. I just hope he comes in 2nd place and has MANY doors opened up for the band. They rock and they deserve to be a well known national act.

Tara Slone is one incredibly talented performer and she has the whole package…awesome voice, beautiful, sexy, owns the stage, and writes great songs, including co-writing, “We Were Stars,” which won a recent International song writing contest. She is sort of like a female Michael Hutchence! We miss seeing Tara perform with joydrop but are beyond thrilled to see her in this competition.

Heather Luttrell — if only by virtue of her sense of truth — has already won this competition. It’s just gravy for this real woman after this long gig. And for those of us who have spent sweet time with her, we are all righteously proud of her.

I met Heather 3 years ago and in that time I have watched as people fall inlove with her over and over again. She is captivating both on stage and in person, I know the rest of the world with fall in love with her as well, and she will get whatever it is she desires from this competition. I can’t wait to se her on TV.

Marty Case is a very fine, talented man. But I do agree that I like him very much in The Lovehammers. They have been together for 17 years! I got the chance to see them open for Cake and I bought they’re CD. Amazing. I hope he does good, but I want him to stay with The LoveHammers. Also…I think that Deanna J. has the most amazing voice! WOW!!!

What else I have to say? I TOLD YOU SO….
CBS hit the lottery when Jordis made the 15 finalists. She is in cruise control right now and her other side will emerge next month close to the final…She is 22 years old but in full control of her destiny..BELIEVE ME I KNOW…..
