HGTV Design Star Winner Is David Bromstad

HGTV Design Star started off with 10 talented designers.  Eight of the designers were canceled, leaving a final two of David Bromstad, 32, of Miami, Florida and Alice Fakier, 31, of Temple, Texas.  Last week, David and Alice squared off in a competition to design a glass house in New York City’s Bryant Park.  Viewers then voted for who they wanted to win the competition.

On the HGTV Design Star finale, the original 10 designer finalists were reunited.  After interviews with the designers and highlight clips from the series, Alice Fakier and David Bromstad stood together on stage waiting to hear the results.

After much anticipation, host Clive Pearse revealed that David Bromstad was the winner of HGTV Design Star.  For his prize, David will star in a new HGTV show.

   As an interior designer i fill so happy that America was able to see the true talent in David,design is talent and beyond that it’s a gift. David has shown all skills in balance,style,trend and preentation. i fill david will offer a faboulous david show that i personally look forward to watching. i can’t express how joyful i feel and so excited for him.    Congratulations David! Feel proud of what you’ve accomplished as a designer. You’re refreshing and real (relatable). Your designs are innovative and inspiring. Even though your design gift stood out very early in the competition, your character and class are winners as well and are probably what made the most difference in how many made their choice in your favor. I gasped with excitement along with you, your family, and friends as your name was announced.

    Congratulations to David. I thought Alice was very good and dererving of the win as well…Both talented and with different designs styles and techniques, each good looking and looking good together with a comfortable and entertaining on air presence…I think that they could co-host the new show and it may be even more interesting.
