Clay Aiken Lands Broadway Role, Talks to The View

Here are four words you never thought you’d see together: Monty Python and Clay Aiken. It’s true — American Idol season 2 finalist, Clay Aiken has landed a role in the Broadway version of Monty Python’s Spamalot.

Rehearsals have been rigorous for Aiken, who recently confided to Newsweek that he’s so sore from preparing for his Broadway debut, he “couldn’t even get off the toilet the other day…” (ooh, visual TMI, Clay, really).

Aiken will grace daytime TV this week, talking to the ladies on ABC’s The View (provided he can get off the toilet in his dressing room, I suppose…) about his new Spamalot role on Tuesday, January 22nd.

Aiken will be performing with Spamalot on Broadway through May 4.

The View airs daily, 12:00 PM (ET) on ABC.
