Big Brother 9 Cast Announcement On CBS Early Show

With Big Brother 9 set to premiere on Tuesday, February 12, CBS has done a remarkable good job in keeping the cast list a secret so far. There have been a couple lists floating around on message boards, but most have been labeled as fakes. CBS has announced that the official reveal of the fourteen or possible sixteen houseguests for Big Brother 9 will take place on The Early Show on Wednesday, February 6 between 7 AM and 9 AM ET/PT.

Commercials for the upcoming season of Big Brother 9 have featured the song “Dirty Little Secret” in the background, and ads for the Internet feeds have included the tagline “Dirty Laundry.” Perhaps, because of the theme that has appeared in advertising, much Internet speculation has centered around contestants that have some type of sexual secret. One reoccurring rumor is that Big Brother 9 will include the first transsexual ever on the U.S. version of the show.

Early rumors and speculation also focused on the possibility of celebrities going into the Big Brother house, but talk of a celebrity edition has since died down. However, it was reported that Joey Buttafucco attended a Los Angeles casting call for Big Brother, so there could be at least some quasi-celebrities that make it into the house.

Other rumors have also centered around Evel Dick Donato from Big Brother 8 and Janelle Pierzina from Big Brother 6 and Big Brother All-Stars being involved in Big Brother 9. However, the rumors center more around their involvement in some type of challenge host or segment host role rather than as houseguests.

Because the first commercials for Big Brother 9 indicated fourteen houseguests but more recent commercials indicate sixteen houseguests, there has been much speculation about what this means. It could be as simple as that CBS found two more peoplewho they felt would be great additions to the house. Or it could be that two of the houseguests will be in a secret room in the house or introduced later and CBS wanted to keep this secret from the original fourteen houseguests. The commercials that indicate sixteen houseguests could have been held to wait until the original fourteen houseguests went into sequester.
