American Idol: Robbie Carrico Says Leave Britney Spears Alone

Chris Crocker isn’t the only onewho wishes people would just leave Britney Spears alone. Ever since Robbie Carrico emerged as a contender on this season of American Idol, the press has been buzzing about his past relationship with Britney Spears.

While Carrico has often been described as Britney Spears’ ex-boyfriend in news reports, Carrico characterizes their relationship as a little bit less serious. Carrico recently told reporters, “Well, honestly it was a long time ago, and we were friends on tour, that was pretty much the gist of it. It wasn’t really that big of a deal.” Carrico also added, “We went on a couple of dates, but that was pretty much it.”

When Carrico was asked if he had noticed any bizarre behavior that would have indicated that Britney Spears was bi-polar, Carrico laughed and said, “Who says she’s bipolar?” When pressed on if he had ever observed any erratic behavior from Britney, Carrico responded, “No, not at all, she was always a real down-to-earth girl. Um, she’s incredible, she’s really a good girl, and you know a lot of people are saying stuff about her, and I kind of wish everybody would just leave her alone and let her be and I wish her the best here in the future. I think everything will work out fine.”

As far as advice for Britney Spears, Carrico said “Didn’t she just release an album?” Carrico continued, “So far that one’s doing pretty good, and I congratulate her on that, and I wish her the best of luck with everything, and just tell her you know, ‘don’t listen to everybody else.’”
