NBC ‘Baby Borrowers’ Fights Teen Pregnancy

“Real life in a hurry” could be one way to describe what the participants of NBC’s upcoming reality TV show, The Baby Borrowers, may experience. On June 25th NBC will kick off the new show where five 18-to-20 year-olds will rise to the task of taking care of infants, toddlers, tweens, teens, and then elderly folks. The message this reality show is hoping to send is a very clear one: DON’T GET PREGNANT.

Five couple will live together for the first time and start their journey through several life experiences. They will begin with wearing an empathetic belly for a few days, to taking care of the infant for a few days, taking care of a toddler for a few days, and then moving onto care for tweens, teens, and elderly, each for a few days at a time. Life in a hurry.

The format of the show is said to be set up a lot like other shows teens watch, like The Hills, and is relatable for the young viewers. Producers are obviously hoping the show will be a hit, but they also want to convey their message regarding avoiding teen pregnancy.

   It’s odd they keep comparing it to the Hills, it seems completely different. This show looks way more educational and informative, but still looks entertaining.

   Would you give your baby to teens for something like this?! Or let your teens do it so they abstain from sex? And what about the sake of the baby? I have mixed opinions on it. I don’t think I would be able to let them with my child even if i would be able to watch on closed circuit from next door. Too scary!

   I’m confused by The Hills reference as well, but maybe we’ll understand when the show starts.

   I definitely could not donate my kid to the show. It would be too difficult to see my kid be upset on the monitor and watching these clueless teens try to help them.
