Nashville Star host, Jewel spoke out about her secret wedding.

On August 7, Jewel and rodeo star Ty Murray eloped at The Cove Atlantis resort in the Bahamas. Their two guests were Jewel’s former keyboard player(who is also anordainded minister) and his wife Amy.

The next day, Jewel told PEOPLE, “To pull off the wedding quietly made it magical.”

The couple were married at sunset on the beach and Jewel, 34 met her groom to the song, “I’ve Been Loving you A Long Time.” They recited handwritten vows to each other and Jewel told him that she would make their lives the best piece of art she has ever done.

Not only was their wedding a secret, Ty Murray, 38, secretly proposed to her on her birthday this past May 23 and this is when they decided that they would elope. Ty stated, “We feel that’s what marriage is, just me and her.”

After they said their vows, they contacted their family and then were surprised by the resort with a display of fireworks which made Ty and Jewel feel like they were the only people on earth.

Jewel told PEOPLE that her and Ty were ready to start a family and Ty commented, “We’re going to start working on that tonight!”
