Dancing With The Stars: The Man’s Man Goes Home

September 24, 2008 07:52:34 by Paulene Hinds

With round two of Dancing With The Stars, one more star is eliminated and Jesse McCartney and the Jonas Brothers perform. Tom Bergeron recapped the dances that the contestants performed last night and reviewed the standings after their second routine. In 12th place after the judges scores Cloris and Corky with a score of 16, in 11th place are Kim and Mark with 18, coming in 10th are Ted and Inna, in a four way tie for 6th are Lance and Lacey, Misty and Max, Rocco and Karina and Maurice and Cheryl all with 21, tied in 4th place are Susan and Tony and Warren and Kim with 22, coming in2nd place are Toni and Alec and Cody and Julianne with 23, and in 1st place at the top of the leader board are Brooke and Derek with 26.

Eight of the couples were only separated by four points and after combining the judges scores with the viewers votes, hosts Tom and Samantha revealed the first two couples that were safe to dance next week. Theywere Brooke and Derek and Kim and Mark. Two couples were safe and ten remained, waiting to find out if they had been saved or would join Jeffrey and Edyta.

Tom and Samantha introduced Jeffrey and Edyta who were given the chance to perform their Quick Step that they were not allowed to last night. After they danced Samantha talked to Brooke and Derek and asked them if they think everyone is gunning for them because of last nights high scores. Brooke felt that it was a lot of pressure and sometime people think that because they scored high that they don’t need to vote. She then told Kim and Mark that it must have been hard for them having to wait to dance last night and Kim said that it was, but she is listening to the judges and will try and bring out her inner JLo.

Tom then revealed the third couple safe for the evening and it was, Cloris and Corky. The crowd went crazy with excitement.

The first special guest of the evening was Jesse McCartney, who performed his platinum hit, “Leavin” that spent five weeks at number one on the Billboard.

Next Comedian and radio host, Adam Carolla, who danced on a unicycle last season during his pasadoble with Julianne, hit the streets to talk to the people about season seven of Dancing With The Stars. He joked with a guy and asked him who he would vote for if he were straight and was told Cloris Leachman. He also asked a young girl who she was voting for and when she told him, Cody, he said that first Cody has his grubby paws all over Hanna Montana and now he has his grubby paws all over his ex dance partner and is on her like a wet nap.

He asked a witch doctor if he could heal Jeffrey. One guy told him that he didn’t even know who he was. He ended his report with, “People love Dancing With The Stars and it didn’t do enough for my career to get me out of this gig.”

Samantha then saved another couple from being eliminated, Maurice and Cheryl.

The Jonas Brothers came out to screams from the crowd and performed their hit song, “Love Bug.” Their latest album has sold more than a half million copies in its first week alone and debuted at number one.

Samantha and Tom then revealed two more couples, the fifth and sixth, in no particular order that would be dancing next week, Misty and Max and Warren and Kim were given the good news.

Samantha spoke to the couples back stage and said that they had all gone through a very demanding time, having to learn two dances in week one as well as two eliminations. Warren said that he was looking forward to learning the Rumba and Cloris was so excited and couldn’t wait to see the costumes, hair and make-up.

Six couples had been spared so far and six couples remained, with only four judges points separating them. The next two couples definately continuing to the next round were Susan and Tony and Rocco and Karina.

Tom and Samantha decided to let the rest of the couples know whether they would stay or be eliminated and they began with Cody and Julianne, telling him that last night Julianne said thathe had gone from being a boy to being a man and wondered if the viewers had given them the chance to continue.

Samantha told Toni and Alec that she had entered the competition to face down her serious medical condition and wondered if the viewers had rewarded her courage.

Tom said to Ted and Inna that Bruno had said that he had grabbed his Mambo and squeezed every ounce of fun out of it. He wondered if the viewers had embraced him.

Samantha told Lance and Lacey that last night they continued to divide the judges with their contemporary style that earned praise from Bruno and Carrie Ann, but Len said it was not his cup of tea. She wondered which side the viewers would take.

Tom then told Lance and Lacey and Cody and Julianne that they were safe.

Len spoke to the two remaining couples standing and he told them that in this show nobody is safe and anyone can be in the bottom two. He couldn’t believe that Toni who was second on Monday and Tuesday was there and that Ted who did the elegant ballroom and a Latin that had lots of potential was there either.

The second couple to be eliminated from the showwas Ted and Inna!

Ted told the audience that, “I had a lot of fun andI know that there are a lot of guys sitting at home, on the couch with a beer in their hands, having a chuckle atme and thanks, I appreciate it. I am one of the guys.”

The show returns next Monday at 8 PM ET on ABC.
