The New Bachelor ‘Jason Mesnick’ Premieres January 5

ABC has confirmed that the thirteenth installment of The Bachelor will premiere on Monday January 5 at 8 PM ET with a special two hour episode. This seasons Bachelor will be none other than last seasons Bachelorette reject, Jason Mesnick.

If you recall, Mesnick, a 31-year-old estate and legacy planning account executive from Kirkland, WA, had proposed marriage to The Bachelorette star DeAnna Pappas during ABC’s July broadcast of the show’s pre-taped finale, however Pappas rejected the proposal instead accepting one from pro snowboarder, Jesse Csincsak, her other remaining suitor.

Pappas and Csincsak announced their break-up this week, her to Inside Weekly and him via You Tube.

This will be the first time that The Bachelor has featured a single dad on their show. Mesnick has custody of his 3 year old son Ty and the two live with Mesnick’s younger brother Larry.

ABC will also premiere a brand new reality competition series which is produced by America’s Next Top Model producer Tyra Banks and Beauty and the Geek producer Ashton Kutcher. The show True Beauty will air at 10 PM ET following The Bachelor’s January 5 debut.
