Dance Your Ass Off: Marissa Jaret Winokur Announced As Host

Marissa Jaret Winokur has the dancing bug! Not only did she recently compete and come in fourth place on season six of Dancing With The Stars this past year, but she is now signed on to host the new show, Dance Your Ass Off on the Oxygen network. According to Oxygen, Dance Your Ass Off will be the first reality dance competition to reward participants based on weight-loss, rather than just dance skills. The show is currently seeking ten men and women ages 21 and up to compete in the upcoming series.

Currently, Marissa Jaret Winokur can be seen playing her reprised role as Tracy Turnbald in the award winning musical Hairspray at Neil Simon Theatre, where it has played for over six years. She will begin production for the new reality show when Hairspray closes on January 4, 2009.

This past summer, Marissa Jaret Winokur and her husband, Judah Miller, welcomed their first son, Zev Isaac Miller.

Dance Your Ass Off is expected to premiere in June 2009.
