American Idol: Carrie Underwood To Perform At The 35th Annual People’s Choice Awards

Previous People’s Choice Award recipient, three-time Grammy winner and season 4 American Idol winner, Carrie Underwood will perform at the 35th Annual People’s Choice Awards this January on CBS. The show will be hosted by the celebrity royal lady herself,Queen Latifah.

The first awards show of 2009, the 35th Annual People’s Choice Awards will honor fan favorites in television, movies and music in a total of 43 categories. Winners will be revealed during the live broadcast from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

Carrie Underwood beat out Bo Bice in 2005 and was crowned the winner of American Idol season 4. The young country pop singer and songwriter has since become a multi-platinum selling recording artist and a mutli Grammy Award winner. Aside from her vocals, Carrie Underwood’s success is attributed to what many fans recognize as her wholesome image. To date, she has sold over 11 million records worldwide and received a great honor when shewas inducted as a member of the Grand Ole Opry on May 10, 2008.

The 35th Annual People’s Choice Awards show will air live on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009 at 9 PM ET, on the CBS Television Network.
