American Idol: Simon Cowell Does Christmas In The Barbados

So much for a white Christmas…American Idoljudge, Simon Cowell caught a few rays in Barbados yesterday. Maybe he is working on his tan for the premiere of American Idol which airs January 13 on FOX.

Simon Cowell hooked up with British billionare Philip Green and spent Christmas Day, along with Philip Green’s 17-year-old daughter Chloe, racing each other on jet-skis, as well as soaking up the Caribbean sun.

A little R&R is welcomedasSimon Cowellis enjoying a break after another ratings-winning run of the show X Factor. Speaking of X Factor, troubled songstress, Britney Spears recently made a visit to the show, which has gotten Simon Cowell thinking about a repeat performance. When asked if he would like to see the pop star on American Idol he replied, “She would, literally, be first on the list as far as I’m concerned in any capacity. I would love to see her mentor the contestants, but if she doesn’t want to do that, and she wants to come on the show and perform, I would welcome her anytime.”

Her visit to the show was a postive experience and it could be just what American Idol needs to boost ratings this season. Perhaps Simon Cowellwas thinking the same thing when he commented, “The buzz we had on our show when she came on was extraordinary. And even with all the stuff that’s gone on with her the past two years, there was more excitement and interest in her than I’ve seen in anyone in years. She would be very, very welcome.”
