Dancing With The Stars: Karina Smirnoff And Maksim Chmerkovskiy Engaged!

Dancing With the Stars pros, Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerkovskiy have a lot to dance about. The couple rang in the New Year with an engagement!

A source close to the couple revealed that the engagement took place just before the New Year bell chimed and Maksim Chmerkovskiy presented Karina Smirnoff with a beautiful Harry Winston engagement ring.

Karina Smirnoff wasromantically linked with her former Dancing With the Stars celebrity partner, Mario Lopez. The couple ended their two year relationship just over six months ago and Karina Smirnoff and fellow Ukraine native Maksim Chmerkovskiy have been a couple ever since.

Chermkovskiy began his pro dancing role on Dancing With the Stars in season two and last season he was partnered with Olympian Misty May-Treanor, who had to bow out of the competition early due to a serious foot injury which required surgery. Karina Smirnoff has been on the hit show since season three and was recentlyteamed up with the famous chef, Rocco DiSpirito.

The couple are currently on the Dancing With the Stars winter tour and there is no word on when and where the wedding will take place, but both Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerkovskiy will return to Dancing With the Stars when season eight begins on March 9.
