Just when we thought we had seen the last of big haired Sanjaya Malakar, we get the surprise of our lives. The 19 year-old finalist from American Idol season 6 is releasing an album! Sanjaya Malakar’s five song EP Dancing to the Music In My Head will be in stores on January 20th.

The sweet, young crooner melted the hearts of young women with his beautiful smile, strange hair and by marching to the beat of his own drummer. Even though he was voted off of American Idol in seventh place, he developed a following which he hopesis still out there waiting for him. Will they still remember him? I bet Simon Cowell is shaking his head right now in disbelief.

If you are curious, you can preview his new songs on Amazon. It will be interesting to see the charts when the album is released. We may all be wishing that he kept the music in his head.
