The Bachelor: Five Bachelorettes Go Dateless

The thirteenth season of The Bachelor has already had a number of series firsts, and the trend continues on this week’s episode. In a Bachelor first, five of the bachelorettes will not even get a date with Jason Mesnick before the next rose ceremony. However, things look good for one of the bachelorettes, as Jason doesn’t waste any time bestowing his first kiss.

As the fifteen remaining bachelorettes move into a luxurious villa in Malibu, Jason starts his dates with the bachelorettes. Jason will take two of the bachelorettes on one-on-one dates. One bachelorette gets to go to a private performance by R&B star Robin Thicke at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, while another bachelorette receives a panoramic ride over Los Angeles in the Goodyear Blimp. At the Robin Thicke performance, Jason delivers his first kiss to a bachelorette.

In a shocking series first, the bachelorettes are told that five of them won’t get to go on dates at all before Jason makes his decisions at the next rose ceremony. Jason makes a surprise visit to the villa to select the bachelorettes for his dates, which leads to a sexy pool party. Shannon invites Jason for a suntan lotion rub-down. However, when Jason is having a conversation with another bachelorette on the balcony, Shannon throws ices cubes to break it up. Also, Lauren engages in an intimate life and love chat with Jason.

After his one-on-one dates, Jason shows up in a stretch limo to take eight of the bachelorettes out for a night on the town. The eight women receive a fashion shopping spree, before going to a rooftop pool with a view of the Sunset Strip. The eight women entertain Jason with a talent show, and one of the bachelorettes receives a rose that will keep her safe at the next rose ceremony.

At a cocktail part before the rose ceremony, the five bachelorettes who didn’t receive a date with Jason are especially aggressive in vying for his attention. Tensions grow so high that one bachelorette even makes a surprise exit in the middle of the paryt. At the rose ceremony, Jason Mesnick eliminates two women, which leaves twelve bachelorettes to compete for his heart. The Bachelor airs on Monday, January 12 from 8 PM to 9:30 PM on ABC.
