Dancing With The Stars: Ballas Hough Band Release Debut Album

Look out…Derek Hough and Mark Ballas, better known as championsof the ballroom dance floor on the hit ABC show Dancing With the Stars , are about to try and rock their way into our hearts! They are set to release their debut album, BHB, on March 10.

Derek Hough and Mark Ballas will debut their new single Do It For You, which was co-written by American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi, this Thursday on Good Morning America. They will be joined by their bandmates Emily Grace, Sam Marder and Harry Sullivan.

Mark Ballas and Derek Hough are not expecting everyone to be on their side as they make this move from dancing to music and Derek Hough told E!, “I’m sure that people’s first reaction to us will be, ‘These dancing guys think they can play guitar now?’” Derek Hough added, “But after seeing up play, they’ll realize that this is not a Hollywood move to make a quick buck.”

Derek Hough thinks that people will come to realize that the band is very talented and said, “Eventually, people will come to know that we can shred on guitar, rip on the bass,and that we’re five kids who’ve grown up together and know each other inside and out, and have been playing together for years.”

The band has been performing during the Dancing With the Stars tour and will continue to add additional dates before the eighth season of Dancing With the Stars begins on March 9.

There is no word yet whether, the Ballas Hough Band will perform during season 8 of Dancing With the Stars like Derek Hough’s sister, Julianne Hough did this past season.

Mark Ballas and Derek Hough are expected to return as dancing pros this season on the show. The new cast will be released by Dancing With the Stars host,Tom Bergeronthis Sunday during primetime shows on ABC and the cast list will be available on ABC.com as they are revealed and Reality TV Magazine will list themthe folowing day.

   I was a bit surprised at this band. I did not expect them to be much good. I have been watching them on Dancing with the Stars and thought this was just another way for them to get noticed. They actually can sing. However, I think they are more for the younger people than the older ones. I believe teens; especially teen girls will love them. They have a blend of sounds like the Maroon 5 and the Jonas Brothers, with a little of the David Archuleta sound. I love the song, “Longing For”. You get to hear Emily Grace on this one and she is really good. Some of my favorites on this album are: “Underwater”, “Do It for You”, and “Birthday”. Mark Ballas and Derek Hough have great vocals and are very talented. Mark wrote most of the songs on the album. On “Ballas Hough Band”, all the songs had the same type of tone and style. It kind of got boring after the first few songs. Maybe they can change up a little on their next album, give adding more variety in they types of songs. I would love to hear they do some soft as well as really powerful vocals. Other than that, this is a great album and is worth its price.
