The Bachelor Goes On Hometown Dates

In this emotional episode of The Bachelor, Jason Mesnick leaves his Los Angeles home in order to visit the final four bachelorette’s hometowns to meet their parents and families. Jason’s first hometown date is in Kelowna, British Columbia, where he receives a romantic winery tour from Jillian. She finally opens up and reveals a long-held family secret to him, which will give him a greater understanding of her past behavior. While Jillian’s family welcomes Jason, the real test comes when Jillian’s grandmother pays an unexpected visit.

Jason’s second hometown date is in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he is entertained by Molly with a few rounds of golf on her favorite course, along with a romantic picnic. Molly is determined that she won’t get involved with a man without her parent’s blessing. Jason gets to meet Molly’s conservative sister, dad and eccentric mom. After her family puts him to the test, Jason understands how truly different her family is from his.

Jason’s third hometown date is in Lake Elsinore, California, where he gives a eulogy at the funeral of a dove, as requested by Naomi’s mom. The mortified Naomi can only observe the situation in disbelief. When everything is over, her father expresses his apprehension about his daughter’s relationship with Jason. Naomi’s mother then confronts Jason about his past lives and spirituality.

Jason’s last hometown date is in Dallas, Texas. After an intimate picnic by the lake, Melissa drops a bomb shell. She tells Jason that he won’t be meeting her parents, but instead he will meet her best friends, who are two married couples. Jason is disheartened and confused. At dinner that night, her friends share the stories of Melissa’s past failed relationships, with references to all the wrong men she has dated in the past.

With four women remaining and only three roses, Jason must make some tough decisions. He sends one devastated bachelorette home, and he prepares to take the next step with the three remaining women on unforgettable overnight dates to New Zealand. The Bachelor airs on Monday, February 9 from 8 PM to 10 PM on ABC.

   Hi - how exciting that they’re going to Kelowna! This place has lots of great wineries - I can’t even guess which one she’s taking him to. Since I work in tourism here, I get to visit many of them. Check out this link to see the gamut of wineries in and around the city:
