American Idol: American Idol Winners Kick Off Disney World Attraction

Disney’s Hollywood Studios looked like an American Idol reunion party last night when all seven winners of American Idol gathered together for the grand opening and VIP party for The American Idol Experience attraction at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. More than two dozen American Idol stars in all, including both winners and finalists from the first seven seasons, plus judge Paula Abdul and the host of the show, Ryan Seacrest arrived by celebrity motorcade to the sound of cheers, applause and snapping cameras of Disney’s Hollywood Studios guests.

In attendance were past American Idol champions,Ruben Studdard, Fantasia Barrino, David Cook, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks and Jordin Sparks. Even American Idol first season winner Kelly Clarkson was in attendance. She had been known to put down both American Idol and Clive Davis in the past.

David Cook performed his hit song, Light On and Carrie Underwood performed her hit, All-American Girl. The best treat of the evening came when they teamed up for a first time ever and sang the Fleetwood Mac hit, Go Your Own Way which brought the house down!

“This is like a high school reunion for Idols,” David Cook said after his performance.

Jordin Sparks, Taylor Hicks, Fantasia Barrino, Ruben Studdard and Kelly Clarkson Also took to the stage in the 1,000-seat American Idol Experience Theater.

“This is a lot of fun for us to be together at one time,” Carrie Underwood said.

All of them were given silver commemorative trophies modeled after microphones. Simon Fuller, creator and executive producer of American Idol presented them with the award.

The American Idol Experience attraction, is inspired by the hit TV show on Fox.
