Dancing With the Stars: Samantha Harris Says Watch Out For Shawn Johnson

You know that Dancing With The Stars is revving up for a new season when even the hosts are choosing the top contenders.Samantha Harris has done just that and she thinks that out of all 13 contestants vying for the coveted mirror ball trophy that Olympic gold-medalist Shawn Johnson may have the strongest chance of winning it.

As we have seen in the past, the Olympians do tend to come out ahead on the hit ABCshow. Take for instance past winners Apollo Anton Ohno who won in season 4 and figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi who won the mirror ball trophy in season 6.

Samantha Harris spoke to the Associated Press at the Heart Truth fashion show during New York Fashion Week on Friday about her choice saying, “As we saw with Kristi, that Olympian mentality translates very well to the competitive sport of ballroom dance.I’m sure Shawn will be a front-runner, but I’m sure the judges will also be very hard on her right out of the gate.”

Samantha Harris joined Dancing With The Stars alums Kristi Yamaguchi and Vivica A. Fox on the cat walk wearing red dresses created for them by famous designers. Heart Truth is an annual campaign to raise awareness about heart disease in women.

The season premiere of Dancing With The Starsseason 8 premieres March 9 on ABC.
