The Biggest Loser Couples has gone from couples to singles back to couples to the dismantling of the couples to now a major separation of the teams. If nothing else, this season is nothing, if not schizophrenic in its pairings, as we look for The Biggest Loser of Season 7.
Helen now joins Dane being with out a partner as Shanon was sent packing but that will soon change as a major shakeup is underway. The first challenge was underway to the new Pop Challenge and host, Alison Sweeney, announced the blue vs black teams and that even the trainers may change. To make matters worse, the teams looked like they were being split up.
The challenge consisted of the players starting in the mud and they had to life themselves up and touch their team ball one hundred times. The teams were up and down out of the mud and it didn’t take the mud a long time to start taking its toll on the Losers. Tara kicked it into high gear to win the challenge over Sione and it guaranteed her and her partner, Laura, their choice of trainers. For the bottom spot, it was between Helen and Kristin, with Kristin risking her and her mother, Cathy, being separated if she finished last.

With eleven more to go, the ladies were tied and Kristin pulled herself out of the mud at the end to edge herself to a second-to-last place finish to stay with her mom. Tara and Laura stayed with Jillian as did Helen. Filipe and Sione became Black Team members; Mandi and Aubrey were Blue Team; Dane became a Blue Team member; Mike and Ron were split up with Mike going to the Black Team and Jillian getting Ron on Blue Team; Finally, the Purple Team became Blue Team members and all of the Losers were definitely were not pleased with the way things had turned out.
The trainers were in to meet their new teams and both Jillian and Bob were fit to be tied. Jillian tried to get her team talking so as to try to find a way to help them out as they trained. Bob definitely took it a bit harder as he gets so much more involved in his people’s psyche.

All the Losers were being such babies with the switching of the teams as they all seemed to lose focus as they seemed to forget the whole reason they were there in the first place; to become The Biggest Loser no matter what. Bob even got weepy as his former team members were now training with Jillian but decided to get them working out to try to form a cohesive unit.
After the emotional separation of the teams form the trainers, it was clear that most everybody had lost their focus in their training and Bob acknowledged that he had never been so upset on the show before. Jillian seemed to take it more in stride as she just punished her new team as always.
The big challenge that usually had immunity or some other larger prize attached to it was a bicycle challenge as everybody had to ride a bike in The Biggest Loser gym. The teams had to take turns for what would be the longest challenge in Biggest Loser history on a bike. The team that put the most miles on the bike over the next twenty-four hour period would win a three pound weight advantage for the next weigh-in.

The teams took different strategies on how they approached the competition and the steady pace of each of the teams and with the new team members all getting used to each other, it was hard to tell who was in the lead with ten hours elapsed. With the litany of each of the team members as to what was hurting them as they climbed on and off the bikes, it was apparent that the Blue Team was trying to plan a truce with the Black Team at nine hours into the competition. Mandi stated her case to everyone saying that everyone wanted to focus on the next weigh-in and that if they called a truce, they could all be fresh for the final workout before the weigh-in.
Sione on the Black Team said that he was not going to quit and with that, the teams decided to finish the challenge and stay committed to the goal of finishing the challenge. With four hours to go, it seemed as the teams had a renewed vigor and they all seemed to be pushing to the end, no matter what the cost. In the end, Alison came in and counted down the challenge.

The results were incredible as the Blue Team finished with 264 miles and the Black Team did better on the strength if Tara’s legs as she biked the most with 58.8 miles and gave the Black Team a victory with 301 miles for the victory and the three pound advantage at the next weigh-in.
Tomorrow night in the conclusion of the most topsy-turvy week ever in Biggest Loser history, the teams will step on the scales for a weigh-in that will sure to make everybody second guess their decisions over the past week at the ranch.
