Tonight on American Idol, Ryan Seacrest introduced the winners Alexis Grace, Michael Sarver and Danny Gokeyfrom the first group of 12 that made it through last week. He then said that they could sit back and relax as the second group of 12 were about to perform. The final words of advice for the group tonight from Simon Cowellwas, “Itis too late for advice now.” The singers came out andsang songs from the Billboard Top 100!

Jasmine Murray was up first tonight. She sang Love Song. She was very confident and reminded me of Jennifer Hudson as she sang. Randy Jackson said that she had good moments and bad moments and the song was a little pitchy throughout. Kara DioGuardisaid that she was all over the place and it wasn’t her best performance. Paula Abdul said that she has to agree what the other two were saying. Simon Cowell said that he was disappointed because he likes her. He said that he would like to work with her in the future and she was a couple of years too early.

Matt Giraud was the second performer tonight. He sang Viva La Vida. Kara DioGuardi said that she was blown away during Hollywood week, but tonight she wasn’t blown away. The song he sang didn’t show the bestside of him. Paula Abdul said that the song was risky and she said that he went for it even though it may have been the wrong song. Simon Cowell said that he turned from someone really cool on the piano to really lame. Randy Jackson said that he has mad talents, but he needs to stay away from simple songs like that one.

Jeanine Vailes took the stage next singing, This Love. It sounded like a bad night in the kareoke bar to me. Paula Abdul said it is season 8 and stopped, saying…Simon. Simon said it was terrible and that everyone was choosing the wrong songs tonight, but she has very good legs. Randy Jackson said the legs are definately hot, but the best part was the end. Kara DioGuardi was trying to think of something else that was pretty on Jeanine and said her song was so overdone!

Up next was one of the most provocative and most entertaining contestants American Idol has ever had, Nick “Norman” Mitchell. He sang a very bad version of some song I couldn’t get! Simon Cowellwas laughing hysterically and said he hopes that he is speaking on behalf of America and Nickdoesn’t make it through to the next round. He said it was horrific comedy. Randy Jacksonsaid…dude it was one of the most entertaining performances ever and he loved the ooh oh and was laughing. Kara DioGuardi said at least we remember him and he wears the same shirt like Simon every week. Paula Abdul said this is America and singers come in different sizes and shapes and Nick is a true performer, even if he is on the wrong stage, You’re fun and memorable.

Allison Iraheta the young 16 year old singer sang Alone. I love her, she reminds me of a young girl I know. Randy Jackson said this is a funny show tonight and Allison just blew it off the box and was the hottest tonight. Kara DioGuardi said this girl is serious and is great, she just needs to get comfortable and has serious chops. Paula Abdul said that she can sing the telephone book and is by far the best they had heard tonight. Simon Cowell said that she was boring backstage with Ryan Seacrest tonight but when she hit the stage she was amazing and is definately one to watch. He was indeed impressed with her.

Half-way through this evening was, Kris Allen singing Man In the Mirror. He tried to show Simon Cowellthat he had a lot of confidence and really rocked the song, except for his pitchy moments. Kara DioGuardi said that his song didn’t compare to Hollywood week and he chose the wrong song and actually has some talent. Paula Abdul said that she was going to disagree completely and hetook the song and nailed it. Simon Cowell said…I am going to agree with Paula. He said that he did what they asked and that he made an effort and looked good and the chicks are going to love him and he put himself in the running. Randy Jackson said that he won it and did it without the guitar.

The seventh performer tonight was Megan Corkrey. She again tried to be different and sang Put Your Records On. Her tattoo was more memorable than her singing to me, but Paula Abdul said that she picked the right song and she is hip, cool and did everything right. Simon Cowell said she is a funny little thing. Her song started out okay, but she got too excited and her song got a little bit too shouty. Randy Jackson said that she is a little interesting and loves the tone of her voice and it was a nice, nice job. Kara DioGuardi said that with the right song she could be a break out artist on the radio. Nothing like leading the votes!

Matt Breitzke sang, If You Could Only See for his wife and family tonight. Simon Cowell said that he really likes him, but absolutely hated the song. Randy Jackson said the performance was so boring it didn’t show him to be the cool guy they saw in Hollywood. Kara DioGuardi said that the song didn’t show any side of him. Paula Abdul said you have a real good voice. Every note was in key but the song didn’t show who we fell in love with.

Jesse Langseth’s fire was fueled by the comments Simon Cowell said in the past about her. She sang, Bette Davis Eyes, one of my favorite songs of all time. Randy Jackson said that he thought that in this round right now everyone should come and blow them out of the box and vocally he wanted to see where her voice could go. Kara DioGuardi said that she was interesting to watch and had taken some risks tonight and there were some moments she liked. Paula Abdul said that she has found her captivating. She is cool and has an identifiable sound to her. Simon Cowell said that he disagrees with Paula and I thought she was forgettable. It was too cool for school.

Kai Kalama who I have never seen before sang, What Becomes of a Broken Heart. As he sang, I realized why I never noticed him before. Kara DioGuardi said I just like you. You are a really good guy. I think you had some pitch issues. The song was a little old fashioned. Paula Abdul said you fell off pitch a little bit. You have come back. You got the chops to do well in the business if you work hard. Simon Cowell said It was very old fashioned, the performance was corny. It was something you would hear in a wedding. Nothing memorable. Randy Jackson said It was just so safe at this point. Not what I am looking for.

Mishavonna Henson tried out last year on season 7 but didn’t make it. Tonight she sang, Drops of Juniper. Paula Abdul said you can sing. You sang it well but it just didn’t excite me. Simon Cowell said that she sings like a 50 year old. Randy Jackson said that she didn’t show her voice off like he wanted to hear. Kara DioGuardi said she is a good singer, but wonders where she fits in the industry.

The final singerof the nightwas Adam Lambert singing, I Can’t Get No Satisfaction. Paula Abdul who was on her feet said, she didn’t even have words to express…he was leaving some people in the rearview mirror. Simon Cowell said there were parts that were great and parts that were terrible. Randy Jackson said…check it out…I loved it. He said that he was one of the most current contestants they have. Kara DioGuardi said that his vocal technique and ability is outragious and he has a crazy range.

Tomorrow night the next 3 contestants to make it to the top 12 will be revealed on American Idol. The show beginsat 8 PM ET on FOX!
