Dancing With the Stars: Karina and Maksim’s Wedding Plans Underway

The real life Dancing With the Stars couple,Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Karina Smirnoff may be spending a lot of time preparing for their first dance with their competitivepartners on Dancing With the Stars which premieres March 9 on ABC, but the recently engaged duoare also taking time out to plan their wedding which will take place sometime this year. The couple spoke to Hollywood Scoop this week about their plans for the big day.

Karina Smirnofftold Hollywood Scoopthatshe and Maksim Chmerkovskiywill definately not be having a long engagement saying, ‘No, he wants to get married before the end of this year, so so far I’ve gone along with his ideas and they’ve been good!”

As for a small wedding versus a big one Karina Smirnoff replied, “It will be a big wedding cause’ we have a lot of family- our “small” engagement party turned into like an eighty person party. It was mostly his family.’

Having a big family has its ups and downs and can cause tension during the planning stages of the wedding and Maksim Chmerkovskiyand Karina Smirnoffare finding that theynot immune to family intrusion, although they have their priorities straight about it all. Karina Smirnoff said, “We just want to be together, but now everyone in the family has a say so I’m getting nervous- but he’s been so good. A lot more agreeable since we got engaged actually!”

As far as an actual date, one was not given, so we will just have to wait for announcement of the big day. Maybe they will announce it one evening during season 8 ofDancing With the Stars. Karina Smirnoff’s partner this season is Steve Wozniak and Maksim Chmerkovskiy is paired with Denise Richards.
