Ryan Seacrest begins that show by saying that getting a second chance on American Idol is nothing short of a miracle - but tonight three contestants will get that opportunity. It’s the Wildcard Show on FOX! Ryan welcomes the contestants that have already made it into the top twelve, as well as the judges. He then explains that last night, the judges choose eight hopefuls that will get another shot at moving on to the next round!
Jesse Langstead is the first contestant to give it another go on American Idol. In a black dress, cropped beige jacket and high boots, Jesse delivers a raunchy rendition of Tell Me Something Good. The audience approves! Randy Jackson says it was an interesting song choice, but some of the notes were questionable. Kara Dioguardi agrees about that, but says she loves Jesse’s swagger! Paula Abdul says she’s impressed by her tenacity and determination - she’s got a lot of soul in her! Simon Cowell tells Jesse that she was the last girl they chose to try again, and he’s glad they did - even though he thought the performance was a little indulgent. Jesse tells Ryan she is pleased with her showing.
Matt Giraud from Kalamazoo, Michigan is up next on Idol. He will sing Who’s Lovin’ You by The Jackson Five. In a black suit jacket and fedora, Matt cuts an impressive figure on stage. His singing is smooth, and sounds good! Kara thanks him for bringing back the bluesy, soulful Matt. Paula says it’s the right song for him, as opposed to Coldplay, which he sang last week. She thinks he did an amazing job! Simon remarks that it was a billion times better than last week - but he hates what he’s wearing - it reminds him of Taylor Hicks! Randy says he made everyone in this place scared that he’s going to give them some competition - that was hot! Matt tells Ryan that this was a song he’s been singing his whole life!
Megan Joy Corkery takes her second chance on American Idol by singing Black Horse and a Cherry Tree. She has a black and white print dress on, and her long blond hair is perfectly straight. Her performance seems a little stiff and nervous. Paula says the song fits her personality; she’s got a quirky thing about her. Simon says he likes that she is current - this show can get a little karaoke - it wasn’t the best vocal, but that doesn’t matter. Randy agrees, and compliments her choice. Kara says they need her because she gives some variety.

Von Smith, who is ecstatic to have been asked back by the American Idol judges, is ready to go! He takes the mic in a simple black and white t-shirt under a dark jacket, and sings The Hardest Word. Simon says he loves that song, but it didn’t start very well, and he’s getting boring; he’s becoming too serious and safe. Randy agrees. Kara concurs that the song was serious and dark - she feels he hasn’t hit his stride. Paula says he’s too concerned with the technical part of his singing, and isn’t letting his essence come through. Von tells Ryan that he definitely has a tendency to overthink things.
Up next on American Idol is Jasmine Murray singing Who Is That Girl by Christina Aguilera. She is dressed in a stunning fuchsia dress and silver heels, and gives a good rendition of the song. Randy says she’s 100% better than the last time, Kara says she has a big voice, Paula says she looks beautiful and did a wonderful job, and Simon says it was a brave song choice and she just put herself back in the running! Ryan wishes her good luck.
Ricky Braddy from North Carolina will be the next to take the stage on Idol. He’s singing an up-tempo version of Superstitious, clad in dark jeans, white shirt and grey vest. He is smiley and enthusiastic. Kara says he can sing his butt off - good job! Paula loves the way he loosened up - he nailed it! Simon says he sounded good, but the song was a bit karaoke and the performance a bit clumsy. Randy agrees about the song choice - it was a little self-indulgent.

Ryan says that it’s now time for Tatianna Del Toro, who will be singing Saving All My Love by Whitney Houston. In a sparkly dress and star-shaped bracelet, Tatiana belts out the love song and finishes dramatically. She and Paula holler that they love one another. Paula then says she doesn’t like it when people repeat songs, but she can sing. Simon remarks that they’ve heard her sing that three times! He asks why she would sing a song again that didn’t get her through the last time?! Randy and Kara say it’s like the adventure of Tatiana - they’re not sure who she is!
Anoop Desai is taking his last Idol shot next with My Perogative as his song choice. It starts rough, but soon the audience is clapping along with Anoop in his jeans and blue shirt! Simon is grinning at the audience’s big reaction, and says that he’s not the best singer, but people like him! Randy tells Anoop that even though he sang that before - he did it better! Kara says she wanted to get up and dance, and Paula notes that he’s quite the showman, but he’ll need to be careful in picking his songs.
Ryan says that the judges have decided on the three contestants who will go through to the next round on American Idol. Ryan calls Jasmine to the stage and Randy Jackson tells her he’s sorry to say she’ll be seeing a lot more of them - she’s through! Ricky is called up next, and Kara tells him his performance wasn’t enough - it’s a no. Megan and Tatiana are brought on stage together. Paula says that what they’ve done is astonishing - they need to remember that - but they’ll be going with Megan. As Tatiana cries, Paula tells her that they love her and she’ll be going places.
Next, Jesse is called to the stage. Simon tells her that unfortunately, she didn’t make it, but she nearly did. Von is next. Paula says she really enjoyed him, but he didn’t make it through. That leaves Matt and Anoop. Ryan asks Simon who gets the final stool - it’s Matt! Suddenly, Simon tells Anoop, however, that they’ve decided to make it a Top 13! Anoop is in too!
So Jasmine, Megan, Anoop, and Matt and are the lucky four to have won another shot at being the American Idol in the Wildcard show o FOX!
