Project Runway: Heidi Klum Becomes An American Citizen

Project Runway producer and host, Heidi Klum became an American citizen last year so that she could vote for Barack Obama, but more importantly, she wantedto let her children Leni 4, Henry 3 and Johan 2, know that they can accomplish anything. Heidi Klum also says that she is constantly seeking to inspire her family.

In an interview with Ladies Home Journal, Heidi Klum said, “Having mixed-race children, I feel that when I tell them they can be anything, it now means they really can.”

While President Obama may be an excellent role model to every child, including her own, Heidi Klum feels that her husband Seal has a few admirable qualities himself that his children can learn from and says, “I have the best husband in the world. He’s very involved.”

The couple, try to maintain a sense of normalcy within their family and one way to do that is for them to drive their kids to school each day. According to Heidi, they have their routine down pat! “We talk about the kids on the way there. Then we talk with the kids on the way back,” she said.

The queen of Project Runway, Heidi Klum realizes that her role as a mother and the hardships she encounters juggling motherhood with her career cannot be compared with the struggle many parents face.

“I don’t have the hard everyday life that so many working mothers face,” she said in her interview.
