American Idol: LaKisha Jones Is Expecting

LaKisha Jones wowed everyone with her amazing voice on season 6 of American Idol. She came on to the show as a single mom with a dream of making her life better for herdaughter. Although LaKisha may not have won the show, her life is taking a turn for the better…

Last October, 29-year old LaKisha wed financial advisor Larry Davis, whom her daughter Brionne apparently started calling “dad” early on in the relationships. LaKisha is happy to announce that the couple is expecting their first child together. In an interview last fall, she told PEOPLE, “The way he [Larry] interacts with my daughter and treats her as his own. , I love that.I may not have won American Idol, but I have won because I’m able to provide a better life for me and my daughter and that’s all I’ve ever wanted.”

But this doesn’t mean that Jones has just thrown her music career to the wayside. Her first solo CDwill bereleasedon May 19, 2009, before the birth of her second child. LaKisha continues, “When I think about all the goodness in my life right now, everyday I think ‘I’m so glad I’m me!’”

Well, we are certainly happy that things are going well for LaKisha and wish her all the best with her new baby and upcoming debut!
