America’s Next Top Model 12: Cover Girl Commercial Shoot & Behind The Scenes

Tonight on a two part America’s Next Top Model, the girls will try their hand at stage acting with a visit from guest judge Clay Aiken. They will have to shoot a Cover Girl commercial to promote a new foundation. Some of the girls haven’t even gotten the hang of taking pictures yet, much less shooting a commercial. Find out who’s the worst actress of them all, and then get the skinny on never before seen footage…

Fo’s picture is up in the model house. All the girls arecleaning upafter eating dinner, when they realize that Natalie is just chilling on the couch. They start talking about what a bitch she is, which she later confronts Aminat about. Aminat does her same thing where she denies and just gets in her face and tells her to go to bed.

TYRA MAIL: Tomorrow you’ll be molded like clay.

The next day, the girls go to theHarlem Stage Theatre where Paulina greets them. She tells them that everyday is an audition and they need to learn about stage acting - for those dayswhen they need to pretend to be in a good mood. She goes over some scenarios with the girls and has them rehearse acting out lines. Paulina has a real hard time getting Tahlia into character. She then hands them copies of a script so they can apply what Paulina has taught them for the challenge.

Now the girls are seated in the theater and Paulina announces that Clay Aiken will be guest judging the challenge. The winner receives 5k worth of merchandise from Joe’s Jeans. The girls act out scenes with Clay andthe winner is London, which she said she figured would happen since she comes from a family of actors.

The girls walk into a classroom and are greeted by Jay and McKey. She is there to introduce them to the newest Cover Girl foundation, which they will be working in groups to shoot a commercial for. Teyona, Aminat, Celia, and Allison are group number one and Natalie, Fo, Tahlia, and London are the second group. Tahlia has a really hard time getting into character and showing enthusiasm. Aminat has alot of trouble with her lines. Celia thinks she did a great job, whereas Allison is worried about Jay saying her face looked like a question mark.

THE JUDGING: The next day Tyra Banks greets the girls and announces that Clay will be helping judge their commercials. Celia is up first, and they feel that Celia is good at creating characters and is very natural on camera. Next is Teyona and Nygel says it’s hard to see her eyes because she squints too much. Allison is next up and Jay tells her that she can’t wear the same outfit twice to the judging! Tyra tells her and Teyona to exchange clothes when they deliberate. The judges feel that her commercial was punishment, but Clay says at least she is doing better than she did in the challenge.

Aminat is next and the judges really critique the way she ennunciated the words (or lack thereof). London’s commercial comes up and the judges feel she was too strong and “hard.” Paulina tells her never to wear her shorts again. HA! Next is Natalie and Clay said she didn’t really interact with the other girls in the commercial. Tyra tells her to work on her flirtiness. Fo is next and she really fumbled her lines. They said their eye actually went to Tahlia, who looked great. Speaking of, Tahlia is next and she says she knows she struggled.Immediately they say that Fo grabbed their attention, but that means that both of them are meant to be in the background. They say that they can see the energy inside her, but it needs to come out.

The girls come back in and Tyra says that as a group they all performed very weak. However, of all of them Celia had the best commercial of the week. Next she calls Natalie, followed by Teyona, Fo, London, and Aminat. Allison and Tahlia are in the bottom two. Tyra tells Allison that she has the same look every week and she tells Tahlia that the camera loves her, but they aren’t sure she loves it. Allison stays and Tahlia is sent home.

Then the behind the scenes episode starts and it takes us back to the beginning, when the girls were dressed up like goddesses. When Tyra asks the girls to strike a post, Sandra stuck herself in front of Angelina (remember, the girl with the ginormous fake nails?). Later on, they show a huge catfight between the girls. Then they cut to Celia, when she met the judges for the first time. Tyra mentions that in her video, Celia had a knack for figuring people out. Theyask Celia for a run down ofthe girls and she starts saying who needs a makeover, who has a bad personality, etc.

Then they show a never before seen footage of the girl’s first challenge. When Nygel met them atop the Empire State Building, he gave them all cards with quiz questions. They had to use the eyefinders to get the answers….although some of the girls got competitive, they didn’t realize it was just for fun. Then they are handed the keys to their new house. Later that night, the girls try to get to know each other and Sandra provokesNijah once again. She asks Nijah if she is “plus size.” All the girls are trying to figure out whether Sandra realizes that she’s offending everyone or if she’s doing it on purpose.

When the girls had their first photo shoot posing as little girls in Central Park, Isabella was a huge disappointment as she couldn’t take instruction. Then they show some comments from the girls regarding Allison’s weirdness (i.e. obsession with nosebleeds and hemophilia). All the sudden they show some footage of Aminat and some other models, stripping on the runway inside their house. Ironically, Sandra was in the diary room talking about how un-ladylike that was and how none of them should win, when she gets caught picking her nose!

Then they show some video of the girls around the house and all of them take notice of Natalie’s sleeping problem. Apparently, that’s all she does in her spare time. On the other end of the spectrum, we have Celia andLondon trying to have a cry on queue contest. However, Fo, really was crying buckets because she missed home and hated her hair.

They flashed back to when the girls did the posing challenge with BennyNinja, and when Teyona walked off the stage, she totally tripped and fell down. When Celia won the challenge, she chose Allison to get to keep her outfit as well. That night they bonded back at the house and became besties, apparently.

Of course, they have to talk about the time when Celia told Tyra that Tahlia had said she wanted to go home. Kortnie really appreciated Celia standing up for her, however, it caused a huge divide among the rest of the girls. Later on, Sandra tells Celia that it was none of her business. She said the only person who should have said something about Tahlia was Kortnie… which makes no sense. WhenAllison points that out, Sandra freaks and gets in everyone’s face.

Then they play an entire set of clips where Sandra is saying “that’s why I’m here, I’m gonna be America’s Next Top Model” blah blah blah. When the girls had a visit from Tocarra, they showed where Sandra actually opened up about being picked on as a child and she starts crying. Aminat thought that was ridiculous because everyone has been picked on. When she got eliminated, she said she regretted not getting to know the girls better.
