American Idol: Taylor Hicks Returns To Idol

Attention all members of the Soul Patrol: American Idol season five winner Taylor Hicks is returning to the stage that made him famous. On Wednesday night’s Idol, Taylor will be performing a song from his new CD The Distance. Keep reading for more details about this week’s Idol theme…

Taylor has been keepingbusysince hisIdol win in 2006, releasing his self-titled platinumrecord Taylor Hicks and making appearances all over the world.He also tried his hand at musical theater when he played Teen Angel in the Broadway play Grease. Taylor will be singing his latest single “Seven Mile Breakdown” from The Distance, which was released this past February. The album was not released by Arista, who Taylor was originally signed with after winning Idol. This record was produced by Simon Climie under Taylor’s very own label Modern Whomp Records.

Tonight, the Idols will be singing famous Rat Pack songs. Not familiar with theRat Pack?Well,I’m sure you’ve heard of Frank Sinatra, right?The group was comprised of Frank Sinatra and some of hispeers such as the fabulous Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. With so many hundreds of wonderful songs to choose from, let’s hope we’re in for a good night.
