Amazing Race: It’s A Race To The Finals

THE AMAZING RACE 14

Last week,The Amazing Race ended with a cliffhanger, when Phil handed Cara and Jamie a clue when they reached the final pit stop and told them they were still racing. Tonight, the final four will continue to race for a spot in the final three and a chance at one million dollars. One team will also get stuck with a UTurn, find out if they will be able to overcome and make it to the finals..

Jamie and Cara take the clue and head out for their next location. They reach the clue and must search the shops along a particular street to find the Travelocity gnome. Margie and Luke aren’t far behind, with Tammy and Victor trailing behind.

When Kesha and Jen are the last to reach The Amazing Racepit stop, they are sure they are going home, but Phil hands them the clue. They are overcome with shock and make their way to the clue. Margie and Luke are the first to find the gnome and are instructed to go to Gu Gong Xi Bei, where they must take bicycles to a subway station.

Tammy and Victor are the first to reach the detour for this leg of the race. In Beijing Opera, they must dress each other up as princesses and gentlemen and when they are acceptable they will receive a clue. In Chinese waiter, they must take orders from people in Mandarin and recite them back to the kitchen staff - when the food is served they will be handed a clue.

Tammy and Victor obviously choose Chinese waiter, since they speak fluent Mandarin. However, their first time around they mistake “good luck fish” for “good luck squid” and they have to go back and retake the order. Kesha and Jen and Margie and Luke opt to do Beijing Opera, but Luke is having a hard time applying the Chinese makeup. Margie says she looks like Alice Cooper. Finally Luke gets fed up and says he’s finished, which allows Kesha and Jen to pull ahead of them.

Jamie and Cara are in last place and choose to go to the opera as well. Tammy and Victor complete the detour and are handed a clue. They reach a UTurn, which is not blind, and if they use it the other team will know who set them back. They decide to use the UTurn on Kesha and Jen and have to travel to a street market, where they will encounter the road block.

ROAD BLOCK: One person must eat a plate of grasshoppers, starfish, scorpions, and larvae. Tammy and Victor are the fist to arrive and Victor opts to do the task. It is absolutely disgusting as he has to eat and entire skewer of each type of food.

Meanwhile, Jamie and Cara are having no luck finding an empty taxi and have not even gotten to the detour yet. Victor plows through the road block like a trooper and they receive their clue to go on to the pit shop, which is Niao Chao, the centerpiece of the Olympics. At this point, Kesha and Jen, Margie and Luke, and Cara and Jamie are all wandering around the street in their makeup trying to find the street market.

Margie and Luke finally reach the UTurn and see that it was for Kesha and Jen - they are relieved on many different levels. When Kesha and Jen see the Uturn, they are instructed to go back and complete the Chinese waiter detour on top of the one they already did. They have gone back three times already and the order was incorrect. Finally, they get it correct and move on.

Margie opts to do the road block and manages to eat all the food and they are on their way to the pit stop. Jamie and Cara are still wandering around the street lost and have no hope that they will be able to find the Uturn. They finally decide to go back to the opera and retrace their steps. They discover the UTurn, which was located in the opera house, and so they move on to the road block. Jen opts to do the road block, and she’s doing alright with it. Just as they are finishing up, Cara and Jamie arrive. Jen is struggling and moving really slow so Jamie decides she is going to just shove it down her throat. Eventually, Jen starts throwing up, but they finish first. Cara is amazed that Jamie is eating the food so fast. It’s a taxi race between them to the pitstop.

Tammy and Victor are the first team to arrive at the pit stop and receive a trip to the Galapogos Islands. Margie and Luke are team number two to reach the pit stop. Kesha and Jen and Cara and Jamie are both on food at the site of the pit stop and trying to find Phil. Jamie and Cara manage to beat Kesha and Jen by a few minutes and they are the final team to race for the prize. When Kesha and Jen make it there, Jen feels guilty because she stopped to go to the bathroom after all the water she drank at the road block and she feels it’s her fault they are eliminated from The Amazing Race.
